Series B Skid Steer By: Grace Lange

The new Case B Series skid steers and compact track loaders are designed to increase operator productivity with features including improved electro-hydraulic controls, improved durability, better operator comfort, and much more. The B Series retains the look and styling of the original Alpha series machines, while making significant improvements to the powertrain, controls, and the cab - giving you the opportunity to increase the productivity of your operators. The new series includes five CTLs and eight skid steer models. The B Series CTLs range from 2700lb (rated at 50% tipping capacity) on the TR270B to the 4500lb-rated TV450B. For the wheeled models, the B Series start at the 1600lb rated SR160B to the 3400lb-rated SV340B. They all have engines ranging between 60 to 90 horsepower, and come in a variety of radial or vertical lift configurations. The frame and styling of the new machines are the same, but the technology improvements is what sets these units apart.

Technology

The new Case B Series are easy to start and operate. They are equipped with Series Bstraightforward electro-hydraulic controls that are easy to personalize to each operators' preference. The technology automatically stores all operator profiles, so it gives each driver more control than ever before. The system stores information operator preferences including H and ISO pattern control preferences to changing the aggressiveness of the loader controls. Creep Speed is a new technology that is also capable of being stored for immediate recall. Creep Speed allows the operator to set the machine speed at a steady, slow "creep" while separately setting the attachment speed using the throttle.

The Case B Series skid steers come optionally equipped with Case SiteWatch, which is designed to gather crucial information about your machine's performance and location and make that knowledge readily available to you. Case SiteWatch makes fleet management easier, more productive, more reliable, and more profitable as you are able to collect and store vital information like fuel efficiency, motion detection, and much more. All of this information can be controlled from anywhere at anytime.

Along with SiteWatch, SiteControl is also available in the new B Series Case equipment. SiteControl is precision technology for construction, and it helps to eliminate rework by making reliable, repeatable precision a reality. This can prevent over-digging and over-cutting all while reducing time, wasted fuel, and money. Both of these programs are available in any of the new Series B units and can take your operation to the next level. To learn more about these controls and find out if they are right for you, click HERE.

When operating the B Series units, all of the controls are shown on this easy to read andLCD screen operate LCD screen. The display includes a feed from the new backup camera that can display during both forward and reverse operations, along with the crucial operational data and machine settings. If Case SiteWatch technology is enabled for the machine, the data is shown here, giving even more information to the operator, fleet managers, and supervisors.

Engine Improvements

The new Case B Series engines have been engineered to extend the life and performance of the engine while minimizing downtime and required maintenance. The Tier-4 Final engines do not require an emissions filter. They feature robust engine shutdown, ignition timeout, and engine protection systems. Idling is one of the most inefficient uses of fuel with construction equipment, so the new improvements help control the cost of operation and increase efficiency. The operator is able to control the economy timer on the LCD display to monitor the amount of time the machine is allowed to idle before shutting off. The same controls are available for battery protection and unexpected conditions that would result in additional service or attention. Each of these improvements are made to increase your up time and protect your engine for the long run.
