Bringing the Voice of Rural America to Washington, D.C.

11/05/25
Titan Machinery recently headed to D.C. for the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) Policy Conference and Advocacy Day. AED brings together equipment dealers, manufacturers, and policymakers to advocate for pro-growth policies that support construction and agriculture industries nationwide.

During this event, Titan Machinery employees met with representatives from the offices of Senators Deb Fischer (NE), Mike Rounds (SD), Kevin Cramer (ND), John Hoeven (ND), and Julie Fedorchak (ND) to spotlight the real threats affecting rural America.

Issues discussed included low commodity prices and infrastructure bottlenecks, the need for expanded biofuels usage mandates, opening new international trade partners, and advancing bio-based innovation to create lasting demand for grains and soybeans.

Our Focus: Long-Term Profitability Through Demand

Titan Machinery’s message throughout the two-day summit was clear: short-term relief can help, but lasting profitability depends on strong, sustained market demand.

We spoke with lawmakers about the policies that can move markets and improve margins for producers long-term:
  • Biofuels and Energy Growth – expanding year-round E15/E20 access and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) programs that use U.S. corn and soy.
  • New International Trade Partners – opening reliable, diversified export markets that reduce volatility and strengthen America’s ag economy.
  • Rural and National Infrastructure – investing in bridges, roads, and short-line rail that lower freight costs and improve access to markets.
  • Bio-Based Innovation – creating new markets through soy- and corn-based materials that drive domestic demand and sustainability.
  • Continuing to find ways to feed the starving populations of the world

“For our customers, it comes down to opportunity,” said BJ Knutson, President & CEO. “Farm profitability grows when we expand markets and create new uses for what our growers produce and contractor margins improve when infrastructure spending accelerates and equipment demand rises. That’s why Titan is incredibly focused on driving innovation and supporting demand driven solutions that strengthen U.S. agriculture and construction for the long term.”

Why Showing Up Matters

With corn and soybean futures testing multi-year lows this fall while input costs remain elevated, the strain on farm profitability continues to worsen.

“We represent the people who get up early, work late, and power the communities that keep America strong,” said Mike Weisenberger, Director, Titan Machinery. “They’ve earned the right to be part of the policy conversations that shape their future, and Titan is ready to stand with them every step of the way.”

Looking Ahead

This trip to Washington wasn’t the end of the conversation; it was the beginning of a more focused one. Titan will keep pressing for the same demand-driven priorities outlined above, including:
  • Full implementation of year-round E15 and fair SAF credit rules that include corn and soy feedstocks.
  • Engagement in the next Farm Bill to ensure programs reflect current farm economics.
  • Short-term support as a temporary bridge, while prioritizing long-lasting market demand.
  • New international buyers and practical tariff reductions to restore U.S. competitiveness.
  • Policies that accelerate road, bridge, and site development projects benefiting construction and rural communities.
“Real change demands persistence, but this D.C. trip built critical momentum, pushing harder for the market demand and policy breakthroughs that turn today’s low prices into tomorrow’s sustainable profits for America’s farmers and contractors,” said BJ Knutson.
