The Minotaur. A machine that combines the features and functionality of a small dozer and a large compact track loader.
This dozer-like unit gives operators the benefit of having two machines in one, allowing for more versatility than ever before from a single platform. The power of the Minotaur (DL550B) is unmatched by any other track skid steer, as it has the most rated lift capacity in its class. The 5,500 pound rated lift capacity (50% of tip capacity) is due to the vertical lift geometry of the loader arms and the heft and weight of the machine that provides the stability to safely handle loads of over 5,000lbs. This same rugged, heavy design help hold the machine to the ground for efficient dozing. After the concept machine was debuted at ConExpo 2017, years of tweaking and refining the Minotaur with the help of real-world operators who spent hundreds of hours operating prototypes around the U.S., Case Construction has now introduced this unit and will start delivering to dealers like Titan Machinery in early 2021.
Machine Elements
The Minotaur features a six-way blade and c-frame that attaches directly to the chassis and coupler. Unlike traditional skid steer dozer attachments, the dozer blade on the
Minotaur directs the pushing load into the chassis eliminating stress and wear on the arms of the machine, making the operating platform smoother and more stable to operate, and providing long-term durable performance. This machine incorporates a true dozer-style undercarriage with the option of rubber or steel tracks. The versatility in track offerings gives operators the ability to customize the machine for the type of work being performed. The Minotaur has an operating weight of approximately 18,000 pounds and is equipped with a 114hp Tier-4F engine. A wide range of attachments are available for the Minotaur including a fully integrated ripper and the full range of heavy-duty CTL attachments.
The operator's environment of the DL550B is what sets it apart. Each unit will include CASE Universal Machine Controls which allows the Minotaur be outfitted from the dealer with any of the three suppliers of grade/machine control technologies. The CASE SiteControl CoPilot is also available, giving the machine a control experience with the basic control of slope or grade. In addition, at the touch of a button the operator is able to go from dozer to CTL operating function within a few seconds. The unit is equipped with electro-hydraulic joysticks, 2D and 3D machine control solutions, and an 8-inch LCD multi-function display for complete machine control at your fingertips. \
